CCH1 Georeference Metadata Legal Disclaimer
The scope of this disclamer covers the following specimen database fields and derived datasets:
- BerkeleyMapper maps and exports
- Jepson eFlora maps
- Georeference fields
- Landowner fields
- Jepson Region fields
These five categories of data are presented for public use as-is,
with no guarantee of accuracy or completeness.
The geographic information contained on this site is not to be construed or used as a
"legal description". Every effort has been made to ensure map accuracy.
However, Errors in GIS mapping or errors in the source databases do occur.
The University and Jepson Herbaria assumes no liability for either any errors, omissions,
or inaccuracies in the information provided regardless of their cause, or for any decision
made, action taken, or action not taken by the user in reliance upon any maps or
data provided.
These data contained within these five categories are for information purposes only
and may not represent actual conditions.
The data displayed here were created from available public records and existing map sources,
not direct field surveys. Data features from all sources have been adjusted to achieve
the "best fit". While great care was taken in this process, maps from different sources
rarely agree as to the precise location of geographic features or land ownership boundaries.
These data are a visual reference of the recorded legal documents which define property
ownership in California. They do not take the place of any legal documents,
and does not determine ownership rights or actual property size.
These data do not represent or intend to represent official or legal boundaries of
private, tribal or public lands. To learn about definitive boundaries,
contact the state, federal, or tribal agency's in question.
Also, the data in CCH1 are not perfect -- it is a work in progress with many hundreds of
contributions from the community and members of CCH.
