stopped with the Geo. R. Greenleafs and went in the afternoon to a meeting at Judge Richards where some people met to hear a talk by me on the feasibilities of proposed botanical studies and the forming of a little club.

On Saturday went on down to Monterey. Guest of H.A. Greene, President of the Federation of Tree Clubs of America.

Greene says that a monument has been raised over the grave of La Perouse at Botany Bay and that within a short period the wreck of the La Perouse ship has been found!
This is quite remarkable and very interesting.
