Corolla longer than the calyx. Calyx with 5 unequal teeth. Stamens equal. Style-branches 2, very short. Calyx rough hairy at throat (with spreading hairs at middle of calyx). Calyx-teeth glabrous, entire. Corolla nearly 2 times as long as calyx. See p. 75. No. 6329. Polygonum [californicum] Rocky outcrop where no other vegetation. Serpentine. No. 6330. Erythraea [Centaurium] venusta Gray [Rob.] Corolla vermillion. A beautiful color. Calyx-lobes subulate, about as long as tube. Stamens inserted in throat. Corolla lobes oblong, acutish. Style slender Stigmas 2. See bottom p. 73. No. 6331. Brodiaea [Tritelia] hyacinthinea Baker. Umbel with 42 flowers. In the fields about the Grant Ranch this has 4 to 9 or 10-flowered umbels.

No. 6332. Gilia [Linanthus] filipes Benth. Dry ground, gravelly soil. No. 6333. Gilia [Navarretia pubescens (Benth.) H. & A.)] Calyx-teeth gland-pub. nearly to tip. Corolla blue, only a little exceeding calyx-teeth, these unequal, 20 of them branched. Anthers white. See p. 75 No. 6334. Ranunculus. See det. below. Petals 5 to 8 or 10. Leaves silky, especially to touch. Two sheets: B = intergrade towards R. canus. A = R. orsulatus Jepson. - A ledge of rock outcrops along a gently sloping hill. The Blue Oaks follow down this outcrop as if they were planted in a row. ---------- Cont. no. 6330. Style shortly 2 cleft, the very short branches broader than the slender style, stigmatic at the truncate tip.
