[cf. Silva et al. 1996: 117 for note on typification. Montagne (1844) in his list of Cuming's algae from the Philippines, includes no. 2241, so "Moluccis (Manilla)" in protologue must be an erroneous reference to Molucca. Decaisne also mentions "Timor: Iter Freycinet, Herb. Mus. Par."]
