Gay in Authors of Plant Names) in Annales des Sciences Naturelles; Botanique ser. 4, 8:201 (1857), and that Gay included his own short diagnosis but ascribed the name to "madame Vilmorin" (Elisa de Vilmorin; E. Vilm. following Authors of Plant Names principles). [Therefore, author citation corrected to Fragaria chiloensis (L.) Mill. subsp. lucida (E. Vilm. ex J. Gay) Staudt, from Fragaria chiloensis (L.)
