Relatively common in the understory of mid-montane forests, including Sequoiadendron groves, in central & southern Sierra Nevada; scattered populations in northern Sierra Nevada and southern Cascade Mountains to Jackson Co., Oregon, where sometimes on bare rocky ridges. |
