NATIVELeaf: 1-pinnate, generally few, clustered, 3--20 cm; stipe 2--5 cm, 0.5--1 mm wide, unwinged, red-brown at base, +- green or straw-colored above, dull; blade generally 8--12 mm wide, linear; pinnae 8--15 pairs, 3--7 mm, 3--6 mm wide, +- rhombic or broadly ovate, generally shallowly crenate on acroscopic and distal margins.
Sporangia: sori generally 1--1.5 mm, generally 1--3 pairs per pinna.
Chromosomes: 2n=72.
Ecology: On rocks in limestone seams in metamorphic rocks;
Elevation: 2050 m.
Bioregional Distribution: n SNH (e side of Sierra Buttes, Sierra Co.);
Distribution Outside California: to Alaska, eastern North America, Europe, Asia.
