East of Alligator Rock: From I-10 at Desert Center, head south on CA-177 to BLM Rd 394 (dirt). Collection site is 1.1 miles SW of interstate exit ramp.
S of Ruby Mountain. From intersection of CA- HW 247 and CA- HW 62, head north on 247 for 11.3 miles. Turn left (W) on New Dixie Mine Rd. Continue on BLM Rd 2330;Site is 1 mile down road from 247 and collections on both sides of dirt road.
Rattlesnake Canyon in Johnson Valley, Ca. From Lucerne Valley at Junction of CA- 247 (also called Old Woman Springs Rd) & 18, take CA- 247 southeast for 18.5 miles.Turn right (SW) on Rattlesnake Canyon Rd. Cross a cattle guard and continue onto BLM Rd 3331. Mileage to site from HWY 247 is 5 miles. Collection up on sand bars above both sides of canyon wash.
Valley north of Chocolate Mountain range. From Desert Center: Take I -1 West for 9.2 miles. Take exit marked Red Cloud Road. Turn left to cross under the interstate, continue over metal grate onto an unmarked, unpaved power line road for 0.2 miles.Continue over metal grate onto an unmarked, unpaved power line road for 0.2 miles. The collecting site is along the portion of the road that runs nearly parallel with an old raised railroad for a short distance before diverging. Collecting done on both sides of road.
Sonoran Basin & Range. Chuckwalla Valley: From Blythe, Ca, head west on 1-10 for 23 miles. Exit at Ford Dry Lake, turn left to cross back over the interstate and turn right on Chuckwalla Valley Rd.Site is 1.5 miles down on south side of road, near intersection of Graham Pass Rd (unpaved).
From intersection of I-40 and Kelbaker Rd, take Kelbaker Rd south for about 1 mile to an unpaved BLM Rd paralleling a gas line heading E towards the Trilobite Wilderness.
