DENSELY VEGETATED BY LOW HERBACEOUS COVER EMBEDDED IN MOSS TURF, WITH TALLER VEGETATION AT MARGIN CONSISTING OF VERATRUM CALIFORNICUM, SALIX, LUPINUS LATIFOLIUS, AND HELENIUM BIGELOVII. MEADOW SURROUNDED BY AND ENCROACHED UPON BY PINUS CONTORTA AND ABIES MAGNIFICA. NO EVIDENCE OF FIRE IN AREA. SLOPE IS 5 DEGREES. ASPECT IS 40 DEGREES. SURFICIAL GEOLOGY IS GRANITIC. COWARDIN SYSTEM IS PALUSTRINE. SOIL TEXTURE IS MUCK. SOIL IS POORLY DRAINED. SITE IS SATURATED. PLANT ALIANCE IS POLYGONUM BISTORTOIDES HERBACEOUS ALLIANCE.
