Habitat  ?   Grazed alkaline meadow, adjacent to east side of the riparian woodland along Temescal Creek, with Frankenia, Juncus balticus, Spergularia, Heliotropium, and Anemopsis. 
Notes  ?   Solitary short shrubby tree (this specimen), and two nearby rows of trees, which all seem to be the same thing. Probably recovering rootstock from old J. regia plantings; clusters of fine hairs in leaf axils of abaxial leaf surface.
