Habitat  ?   Surrounding slopes with chaparral of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Ceanothus crassifolius, C. spinosus, Quercus dumosa, Rhamnus ilicifolia, Heteromeles arbutifolia, etc. Canyon bottom with Quercus agrifolia woodland on higher benches and riparian woodland of Platanus racemosa, Salix lasiolepis and Baccharis salicifolia along active stream channel. 
Notes  ?   Sprawling shrub, fls. reddish purple. Locally common, ledges and crevices on granitic bedrock in area of narrows and cataracts, SW corner of S.15 and SE corner of S.16.
