Locality  ?   Gavilan Hills Region: South base of Alberhill Mountain on flats north of Nichols Road and West of Pierce Street, in the vicinity of the site of Terra Cotta  
Habitat  ?   Flats, shallow depressions, and gentle, low slopes with generally clay soils, occasionally with cobles and small boulders of water rounded granitic or andesitic rock. Clay soil dominated by grasses, annual, and perennial herbs, including Avena barbata, Bromus rubens, Stipa pulchra, Erodium cicutarium, Lasthenia californica, Microseris heterocarpa, Microseris douglasii ssp. platycarpha, Calandrinia ciliata, Dichelostemma pulchellum, Plagiobothrys collinus, Layia platyglossa, Plagiobothrys acanthocarpus, Allium haematochiton, Muilla maritima, Hemizonia sp., Amsinckia menziesii var. menziesii, and Amsinckia menziesii var. intermedia, with a few scattered shrubs of Ericameria palmeri var. pachylepis and Eriogonum fasciculatum.
