Locality  ?   Gavilan Hills region: S flank of Alberhill Mtn, just east of the heavily mined area  
Habitat  ?   Deep adobe clay soils with cobbles and small boulders of andesitic rock, disturbed in 1991 by surface scraping, but now fairly well recovered. Open grassy areas with a diversity of annuals and perennial herbs, including Allium munzii, Harpagonella palmeri, Erodium cicutarium, Erodium brachycarpum, Lupinus succulentus, Achyrachaena mollis, Plantago erecta, Ancistrocarphus filagineus, Lasthenia californica, Lepidium nitidum, Sanicula bipinnatifida, Plagiobothrys acanthocarpus, Bromus mollis, Avena barbata, and Brassica geniculata. Rockier areas support open scrub of Eriogonum fasciculatum var. foliolosum and Artemisia californica. 
Notes  ?   Annual; flowers white. Locally common in open areas, especially where exotic grass density was low.
