Habitat ? | Steep-sided ridges of bedded sedimentary rocks, dropping to narrow, winding canyon bottoms. Osito flat area with deeper, clay soils situated on extensive break in slope. Entire area burned in August 1996. Before burn, the vegetation was relatively open chaparral of Adeonostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Ceanothus cuneatus, and Cercocarpus betuloides on the slopes, grassland with Stipa, Avena fatua, and Hemizonia fasciculata at Osito Flat. At present time, post fire annuals well developed,especially Lotus salsuginosus, Lotus wrangelianus, Camissonia californica, Cryptantha muricata, Phacelia viscida, Emmenanthe penduliflora,and Salvia columbariae. | |
