Habitat  ?   Dominant associates include: Hirschfeldia incana and Centarurea melitensis. Other associates include: Erodium cicutarium, Marrubium vulgare, and Artemisia californica. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Growing in gravel clay soil in an open area in the basin. Perennial erect herb with glabrous branching stem and solitary flower heads. Upper leaves linear and entire (1.0-3.0 cm), lower leaves are long thin and pinnately lobed (12.5 cm). Stem loses leaves at the terminal. Plant height: 1.2 m. Flower color: rays white, 5-toothed, and 4 cm[?] across. Flowers turning to pale red with age.
