Habitat  ?   On and near rocky creek-banks; common but not abundant. Inconstant in characters supposed to mark the variety and to distinguish E. robustum A. Br. as a species. Theses are usually two rows of tuberless.′Rosettes′are present, but may be evident or obsolete, and the groove in the sheath-teeth may be evident or obsolete.
