Habitat  ?   25 degree, W-facing slope on alluvial bench above major drainage. Course metamorphic sand, gravel and pebbles. 
Associates  ?   Juniperus californica, Agave deserti, Cylindropuntia ganderi, Ferocactus cylindraceus, Echinocereus engelmannii, Simmondsia chinensis, Eriogonum fasciculatum var. polifolium, Lotus scoparius, Brickellia frutescens. 
Morphology Notes  ?   4 feet tall, all branches ascending to erect, innner tepals yellow with faint red blush, outer tepals with red mid-stripe and tips. All plants in area of similar habit.
