Collecting around knoll before the steep drop down ridge to Strawberry Valley. Sunny, dry chaparral, and pine and oak forest. Associated species include: Pinus coulteri, P. lambertiana, Quercus kelloggii, Q. chrysolepis, Arctostaphylos pringlei drupacea, Hosackia crassifolia, Acmispon grandiflorus, Eriogonum wrightii, Hulsea vestita callicarpha, Orobanche fasciculata, Mimulus brevipes, Clarkia rhomboidea, Saltugilia splendens, Allophyllum glutinosum, Silene verecunda, Bromus tectorum, B. carinatus marginatus, Elymus elymoides, Poa secunda, Koeleria macrantha, and Stipa latiglumis. Light greenish-yellow cast to plant.
