Associated species include: Pinus jeffreyi, Abies concolor, Calocedrus decurrens, Quercus kelloggii, Salix scouleriana, S. lutea, Alnus rhombifolia, Ribes nevadense, R. cereum, Rosa woodsii ultramontana, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius parishii, Barbarea orthoceras, Silene menziesii, Kelloggia galioides, Potentilla gracilis fastigiata, Taraxacum officinale, Symphyotrichum ascendens, Achillea millefolium, Aquilegia formosa, Equisetum hyemale affine, Pteridium aquilinum pubescens, Athyrium filix-femina cyclosorum, Hosackia oblongifolia, Geum macrophyllum, Geranium richardsonii, Thalictrum fendleri, Actaea rubra, Pyrola asarifolia, Lilium parryi, Maianthemum stellatum, Rubus parviflorus, Castilleja miniata, Solidago californica, Scirpus microcarpus, Carex senta, C. subfusca, C. occidentalis, C fracta, C. pellita, and Juncus macrandrus. Growing in wet canyon bottom.
