Habitat  ?   Flatish ridge appx. 80m across, falling-off steeply N & S. Decomposed granite soil supporting recently burnt (appx. 2 years ago) Pinus ponderosa woodland with resprouting Quercus. Recovering vegetation dominated by Lupinus excubitus, Arctostaphylos patula, Eriodyction trichocalyx, Penstemon grinellii, Eriogonum parishii. With Nicotiana attenuata, Leptodactylon pungens, Stipa pinetorum, Galium. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Common, locally abundant and showy resprouter. Dominant herbaceous plant in recovering burnt areas. To 1m high, flws lavendar-violet.
