Locality  ?   Northwest end of the Sheep Hole Mountains; Along east side of Amboy Road, around Sheep Hole Pass. Parked at a tramission tower just off the road. Near 34.239 N, 115.720 W.General collecting along bajada to west side of mountains, up ridge to 34.23 N, 115.70 W. Then down south side of this ridge to dry canyon bottom at 34.23 N, 115.70 W. Then follow this canyon bottom back out of the mountains.  
Morphology Notes  ?   Steep mountains composed of Pre-Cenozoic granitic and metamorphic rocks, with sparse desert shrubs. Steep ridges and slopes, with canyon bottoms had a medley size of rocks and boulders. Canyon bottom had areas with heavy sand too. The canyon drains northwest, then turns sharply south parallel with the road. Canyon is incised into the bajada, with a loose, sandy slope at this area, and a wider wash of a bottom. Associated shrubs include: Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Krameria erecta, Hyptis emoryi, Eriogonum fascicualtum flavoviride, Encelia farinosa, Pleurocoronis pluriseta, Peucephyllum schottii, Crossosoma bigelovii, Yucca schidigera, Nolina bigelovii, Acacia greggii, (with Phoradendron californicum on it, within canyon bottoms), Xylorhiza tortifolia, Hymenoclea salsola, Trixis californica, Adenophyllum porophylloides, Bebbia juncea aspera, and Viguiera parishii. Many annuals too, with some already pass flowering. Growing within shade, along rocky slopes.
