Associated plants include; Pinus monophylla forest with Ephedra sp., Artemisia tridentata, Tetradymia canescens, Purshia tridentata glandulosa, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Eriogonum microthecum ambiguum and Cercocarpus ledifolius intermontanus.
