Habitat  ?   Second spring after a fire had burned through. Heavy rains this winter had washed more sand and rocks down this canyon, but lower canyon has more being deposit than carried away. This site is abutted along the west side of canyon near the sunny east slope. This bench of alluvial was deposit the winter before, as many benches from last year are gone. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Three Platanus are near this bench. Sunny and level with; Nicotiana glauca, Solanum douglasii, Ricinus communis, Lupinus truncatus, L. hirsutissimus, Senecio vulgaris, Gnaphalium bicolor, Erodium cicutarium, Schismus barbatus, Bromus madritensis, Avena barbata, Eucrypta chrysanthemifolia, Phacelia minor, Hirschfeldia incana, Lotus scoparius, Malacothrix saxatilis tenuifolia, Brickellia californica, Melica imperfecta, Eriogonum fasciculatum. Seedlings of; Gilia capitata abrotanifolia, Cryptantha muricata, Filago gallica, Chenopodium botrys, Camissonia californica, C. cf hirtella, Sonchus oleraceus, Lotus strigosus, Chaenactis artemisiifolia, and Hypochaeris glabra. Sunny east slope above canyon bottom are; Mostly resprouting Malosma laurina with few resprouting Heteromeles arbutifolia, Salvia apiana, Brickellia californica, Ricinus communis and Marah macrocarpus.
