Locality  ?   South side of mountains: Brand Canyon, above the large waterfall, where the canyon forks off.; Burbank 7.5 Quad.  
Morphology Notes  ?   Main canyon. Area burned last year. Nearing head of canyon, getting narrow and cascading bedrock falls. Roots are more exposed as the sand and rocks are being washed down canyon, (rejuvenated stream channel). Other plant associates are: Umbelluaria californica, (resprouting) Toxicodendron diversilobum, Quercus agrifolia, Nicotiana glauca, Ricinus communis, Malosma laurina, Carex spissa, Equisetum hyemale affine, (on sandy bench that didn′t get wash away) Phacelia grandiflora, P. cicutaria hispida, P. minor, Stephanomeria virgata, Gilia capitata abronifolia, Mimulus cardinalis, M. floribundus, Agrostis viridis, Malacothrix saxatilis tenuifolia, Lathyrus vestitus, Calystegia macrostegia intermedia, Camissonia californica, Sonchus oleraceus, Hirschfeldia incana, Sisymbrium orientale, Conyza canadensis, Ageratina adenophora, Venegasia carpesioides and Dryopteris arguta. Canyon bottom, growing out of sand, at top of waterfall.
