Habitat  ?   Open southeast-facing slope in mixed conifer forest (Ponderosa pine, incense cedar, sugar pine, Douglas-fir, canyon live oak, mountain white-thorn). Moderate slope, serpentine substrate, rocky soil, open partly because of past logging, fair regeneration (Ponderosa pine) present.
