Habitat  ?   Somewhat disturbed canyon bottom with gravelly benches and down-cut channel. Surrounding slopes of steep, eroded cobbley sedimentary deposits. Riparian strip with Baccharis salicifolia, Salix lasiolepis, Salix exigua, Ambrosia psilostachya, and Toxicodendron diversilobum. Surrounding slopes with low, open scrub of Eriogonum fasciculatum, Yucca whipplei, and Salvia apiana. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Shrub, locally common on less disturbed benches. This plant the form with drooping inflorescence.
