Locality  ?   NW Palomar Mountains; Agua Tibia Mountains; Cleveland National Forest, along the Cutca Trail, in Cutca Valley; approximately 0.5 mile outside the Wilderness boundary.At the junction of the Cutca Trail and the Cutca Road (Forest Service 8SO8).  
Habitat  ?   Grassland swales within the chaparral; granitic/gabbroic substrate with a sandy soil 
Notes  ?   NOTE: This collection represents the first known collection of this taxa within the Peninsular ranges, outside of the San Jacinto Range. These collections are significant because of their differences with the type description, most notably their FERTILE DISC ACHENES and larger habit (0.1-0.8 m). 
Morphology Notes  ?   chaparral composed of Eriogonum fasciculatum, Adenostoma sparsifolium, Wyethia ovata, Eremocarpus setiger, Bromus hordeaceus, etc. Aspect -; slope -. Annual, 2.5 ft tall. Compact habit, anthers yellow, lower leaves entire to finely toothed.
