Morphology Notes  ?   Broadly subglobose shrubs; On slope above the surf. Abundant. Banner and wings purple, the former whitish medially towards the base; keel whitish except for dark purple acumen. Corolla glabrous except for banner, without, on and near midnerve. Filaments and style greenish white (style slightly darker); anthers orange-yellow. Leaflets and other herbage, including calyx, silvery gray with silky hair; leaflets paler beneath. Bark dull tannish to grayish; it was slightly fissured, especially below. Plants multistemmed from base, or near it, and intricately branched. Mostly 3-4.5 feet tall and 6-9 feet wide. Associates included Haplopappus ericoides, Caprobrotus chilensis, Mesebryanthemum elongatum, Artemisia pycnocephala, Eriogonum latifolium, and Bromus diandrus.
