Habitat  ?   Steep rocky south facing slope. Small areas of sand among large boulder support occasional Prosopis juliflora, Encelia farinosa, Salvia vaseyi and Beleperone californicum. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Low growing tree, 6-10ft tall, forming wide clump 30-60ft in diamter. Inconspicuous thorns make clump difficult to penetrate.
