Habitat  ?   Side of rolling hill, flats at base of hill, and wash. Hillside slope ca. 20 degrees, facing west. Soil of sand, cobble, and some duff. Hillside mostly mid-Miocene rhyolite tuff, flows, and intrusive rocks; top of hill is late Miocene gravel deposits; wash is Quaternary alluvium. Joshua tree woodland and creosote bush scrub.
