Locality  ?   Southeastern end of Death Valley National Monument in the Black Mountains. Vicinity of Rhodes Spring, north of Hwy 178, 3.7 miles east of Jubilee Pass. On low hills to west of homestead site.  
Habitat  ?   Mostly volcanic substrate with limited outcroppings of limestone. Very open scrub of Larrea, Encelia foainosa and Striplex hymenelytra. Very local in shaded patches of soil about limestone outcrops, where assoc. with Draba cuneifolia and Senecio mohavense.
