Habitat  ?   Boulder hillside. Slope 8-15 degrees, facing NE, E, SE, S, SW, W. Sand and gravel soil, 10 YR 2-1 black. Cretaceous quartz diorite. Pinyon-juniper scrub. Common among boulders.
