Habitat  ?   North facing banks above and below the road in mixed-conifer forest with aspen. A few seeps run through the area (including Grigsby Creek), so there are many associated species in addition to Sarcodes sanguinea, Chimaphila umbellata, C. menziesii, and Pyrola dentata. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Plants are in flower and exhibit much variation in leaf shape among ramets. Many individuals flowering. Plants growing with single inflorescences, several meters apart from each other.
