Habitat  ?   Fire burned a few years ago, through low hills of Adenostoma fasciculatum. Riparian habitat along creek. Growing in dry sandy areas. 
Associates  ?   Chaparral components are: Quercus john-tuckeri, Q. wislizeni frutescens, Malacothamnus fremontii, Rhamnus ilicifolia, Marah macrocarpa, Eriodictyon crassifolium nigrescens, Rhus aromatica, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Ceanothus leucodermis, Ericameria linearifolia, Dendromecon rigida, and Solanum xanti. Riparian components are: Populus fremontii, Salix lasiolepis, S. exigua, S. laevigata, Baccharis salicifolia, Platanus racemosa, Rubus ursinus, Carex schottii, C. alma, and Melilotus albus 
Morphology Notes  ?   Flowers have purple streaked tube, yellow throat, and light blue limbs.
