Ended near 36.79025N 118.76465W.Trail climbs up through coniferous forests, with some rock outcrops, to saddle. Then down to Deer Meadow. Another smaller meadow down trail, north of here, close to the wilderness boundary. Traveled a short distance (north) beyond the second meadow.

Associates  ?   Pinus jeffreyi, P. contorta murrayana, Abies concolor, A. magnifica, Arctostaphylos patula, ceanothus cuneatus, comandra umbellata californica, Prunus emarginata, Monardella odoratissima pallida, Ipomopsis aggregata bridgesii, Phacelia mutabilis, Lupinus fulcratus, Calochortus leichtlinii, Calystegia malacophylla, Penstemon heterodoxus cephalophorus, P. parvulus, and Ivesia santolinoides. Wet meadow areas had: Veratrum californicum, Maianthemum racemosum, Carex spp., Senecio triangularis, Micranthes oregana, Geum macrophyllum, Bistorta bistortoides, Oreostemma alpigenum andersonii, Achillea millefolium, Primula jeffreyi, Ranunculus alismifolius alismellus, and Barbarea orthoceras. Growing in meadow. Yellow flowers.
