Habitat  ?   Dry desert slopes and flats. Riparian habitat with small creek flowing, with some sandy, dry, benches above creek, that had tall, thick Artemisia tridentata parishii bushes. Growing on slope and flats. 
Associates  ?   Juniperus californica, Ephedra nevadensis, Ericameria linearifolia, E. cooperi, Arctostaphylos glauca, Malacothamnus fremontii, Forestiera pubescens, Lycium cooperi, Encelia actoni, Eriodictyon crassifolium nigrescens, Populus fremontii, Salix lasiolepis, S. exigua hindsiana, S. laevigata, and Juglans californica
