Habitat  ?   Locally common on decomposed granite, broad sandy valley bottom south of ranch compound. Broad, gently sloping valley floor of deep alluvium, mostly of decomposed granite, steep slopes to east and west of old ranch compound mostly reddish metamorphics. Valley bottom with scrub of Eriogonum fasciculatum var. foliolosum, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Ericameria linearifolia, and Senecio flaccidus var. douglasii; xeric slopes with scrub of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, and Ceanothus cuneatus, mesic slopes with more open scrub of Cercocarpus betuloides, Ericameria linearifolia, Quercus cf. john-tuckeri, Prunus ilicifolia, Rhamnus ilicifolia, Poa secunda.
