Locality  ?   Northern Carrizo Plain. The location is one mile north of Highway 58, 1.5 miles east of Bitterwater Road.  
Habitat  ?   Surrounding habitat is annual grassland and agriculture.; Plants are common in seasonal puddles along a dirt ranch road. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Plants annual, prostrate, strigose. Leaves opposite below, cauline leaves alternate. Inflorescence bracted. Fruit with long bristly prickles on back. Nutlet scar large, concave.
