Locality  ?   Subalpine Forest, 1 1⁄4 miles east of the Tioga Pass Ranger Station 10, 660 ft., 2 miles northwest of Mt. Dana (13,050).  
Habitat  ?   Only a few scattered Pinus albicaulis in the area. Specimens collected from the base of a high cliff and at the top of a large talus slope, plants growing prostrate over wet rocks, a spring keeps the area wet all over the time.
