Notes  ?   Chaparral and grassland on north-facing slope, with deep to very shallow soil derived from schist parent material ( Geologic Map of California : shch). Abundant. Shrub up to 3.1 m tall. Flowers white with dark nectary. Associated plant species: Eriogonum grande var. rubescens, Rhus ovata, Baccharis pilularis, Quercus pacifica, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Arctostaphylos insularis, Lotus dendroideus var. dendroideus, Eriogonum arborescens, Prunus ilicifolia subsp. lyonii, Marah macrocarpus var. major, Gnaphalium sp., Adenostoma fasciculatum, Cercocarpus betuloides var. blancheae, Galium nuttallii subsp. insulare, Marrubium vulgare, Hazardia squarrosa var. grindelioides, Brassica nigra, Lotus grandiflorus var. grandiflorus, Mimulus longiflorus, Baccharis plummerae, and Ceanothus megacarpus var. insularis, Ceanothus arboreus, and Rhamnus pyrifolia. | Access Database Number (Deprecated): UCD123584
