Locality  ?   Just south of the border with McLaughlin Reserve. Along Knoxville-Berryessa Rd, ca. 1.4 road miles south of intersection with dirt road leading to old town of Knoxville, SW side of road, along drainage leading into Knoxville Creek; there is an old homestead uphill from collection site.  
Habitat  ?   Along drainage with running water, near serpentine grassland. Area burned in the fall of 1999. 
Associates  ?   Grows Fritillaria pluriflora, uphill there is oak-pine woodland Pinus sabiniana, Quercus douglasii, and Q. lobata. Near stream are Quercus durata, Trichostema laxa, and Aquilegia exigua.
