Locality  ?   Staten Island, on top of the perimeter levee that holds out the S. Mokelumne River about 200m up from the re-confluence of the N. and S. Mokelume.  
Elevation (corrected)  ?   3 meters (9 feet) 
Habitat  ?   Growing in annual vegetation along the margin of the stone riprap at the top of the perimeter levee. Entirely exposed. Soil was gravelly from the graveled road largely mineral soil likely borrowed from elsewhere for levee reinforcement. 
Morphology Notes  ?   Continuous 20+ meter long and ˜ 3 meter wide patch of tangled Lathyrus jepsonii not reaching more than 2 or 3 dm high due to complete lack of structure to vine on.
