In approx. 8 year old pine plantation, generally open, with scattered large sugar pine, Ponderosa pine; adjacent forest (below road) of Ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, sugar pine, incense cedar, black oak. South-facing slope, rocky but good volcanic soil. Also with Ceanothus integerrimus, Polygala cornuta, Arctostaphylos patula, Ceanothus prostratus, Rupertia hallii.
