Habitat  ?   Scattered on top of exposed, wind-swept volcanic scree ridge, with Astragalus whitneyi var. lenophyllus, Crepis pleurocarpa, Phlox diffusa, Antennaria dimorpha, Eriogonum strictum var. anserinum, and a diverse herbaceous flora of low cushion plants. Fairly common on ridge.
