Habitat  ?   Mostly open (burned over) forest of Douglas-fir, western white pine, lodgepole pine, incense cedar; low shrub layer well-developed, mostly 6-12 dm high; rocky serpentine on rounded ridge top. Flowers bright blue; several decumbent stems from caudex; plants widely scattered, many are past flowering.
