Habitat  ?   Plateau/tableland sloping to the south; mostly +- open forest (Ponderosa pine, Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Arctostaphylos patula, Ceanothus prostratus) plus occasional juniper; with scattered rocky openings dominated by bunchgrasses (Poa secunda, Elymus elymoides, scattered juniper and Ponderosa pine). Area of transition between open and forest. Flowers bright yellow; some plants long soft hairy, some plants short soft hairy to almost glabrous.
