Habitat  ?   Rocky west-facing opening (maybe due to logging or fire), surrounded by Ponderosa pine dominated mixed conifer forest but few pines coming in; scattered shrubs (Cercis occidentalis, Ceanothus lemmonii, Rhamnus tomentella); lots of Vulpia myuros, Leontodon saxitilis, Cynosurus echinatus, Brodiaea sierrae, Madia elegans, Danthonia californica, Brachypodium distachyon, Lomatium marginatum, Eriophyllum lanatum, Avena.
