| Habitat ? | On steep 10 m high road cutbanks, east-facing; narrow road opening through steep slope mixed conifer forest; greenstone / metamorphic rock substrate; moderate amount of herbaceous vegetation, especially Melica harfordii. Plants in loose clumps but actually quite rhizomatously connected within the loose clumps -- not a bunchgrass; inflorescences mostly disarticulated but some dry glumes and florets remain; stem leaves mostly still green, mostly at 90 degrees to culm. | |
