Spring-fed moist east-facing slope, loam soil, with Populus tremuloides, Populus alba, Salix lasiolepis, Cornus sericea, Rosa woodsii, Urtica holosericea. Single shrub, 2 m tall, corollas bright yellow, on a sunny moist slope.
