Locality  ?   2 km. west of Rosamond, Antelope Valley, near the westerly edge of the Mojave Desert  
Habitat  ?   Growing on the open plains in the Larrea belt. 
Notes  ?   Shrubs 1.8 m. high, with the habit and odor of A. t. typica. Bracts of the involucre 16 to 18; flowers 5 in each head; corolla 1.7 to 2.0 mm. long. The inflorescence is much reduced and more condensed than in the types and in other plants from near the type locality.
